How To Style Your Rings Like A Pro
When I’m browsing Pinterest and Instagram, I always without fail see a hand full of the most gorgeous rings you’ve ever seen. There are rings of all different styles, shapes, and sizes – yet they all look fabulous worn together. I had a little trouble with this at first – I couldn’t quite figure out how to look more fashionable than refugee. I got it in the end though, so read on if you’d like to learn how to do it too!
Use Thick Rings for Your Base
One great trick I like to use is selecting a couple of thick rings for my base, and then using thinner, more delicate rings over the rest of my fingers. This isn’t too overpowering and looks very put together.
Mixing Metals on Different Fingers
Mixing metals is a definite yes when you’re trying to create a look such as this. Don’t listen to people who tell you otherwise! The trick is to keep one metal on one finger, for example, rose gold on your index finger and gunmetal on your pointer.
Balance the Feng Shui
Try to get the balance right on your hands when piling on lots of rings. You don’t want it to look too heavy or too light. Try to think of the ancient practice of ‘Feng Shui’ to help you. What seems to flow better?
Use Midi and First Knuckle Rings
Don’t just wear rings at the base of your fingers. Wear them all over your fingers in different places! This means stocking up on midi rings and first knuckle rings too. You can create some great looks using rings like this.
Wear Huge Rings on Each Finger
Let’s say you want to make a big statement. In that case, there are no rules against wearing huge rings on each finger. Try to keep them in the same sort of style though, so that they don’t look too haphazard.
Stack ‘Em High
If you want to wear every single ring you own, that can work too. You just need to play around with combinations and the way you stack them to see what looks best. For example, you could mix the latest styles with vintage pieces to see what works.
Mix Edgy and Cute
Mix both styles of edgy and cute to balance one another out and create a beautiful looking combination.
You Don’t Have to Match Hands
Don’t think for a second that both of your hands have to have the same rings on them, or that your rings need to be on the same fingers. You can mix up both hands as much as you like.
Try the Same Brand
I usually find that if I buy rings from the same brand, they all look great together automatically.
Remember, these tips are just a general guide for you to look at and take inspiration from. There is no right and wrong when it comes to wearing rings! Wear them in whatever way you love best.
